Washington, D.C., our newest alumni chapter, hosted its inaugural event at the Canadian Embassy on October 28, 2008.

More than 500 Concordia Alumni live in the Washington, D.C. area , including Maryland and Virginia.

President, Renato Cruz Sogueco

Renato Renato has lived in Virginia since 1994 and is Chief Information Officer of the Society of American Florists.

In his spare time he enjoys many sports and activities, as well as spending time with son Raphael and wife Patricia.

Executive Team

  • Thérèse Morin, MBA 86, has lived in Virginia since 1986 and has witnessed firsthand the benefits American universities provide by encouraging networking among alumni, faculty and staff members. She is dedicated to bringing these benefits to Concordia graduates in Washington D.C.
  • James Byrnes, BA 97, has lived in Virginia since 2007. He looks forward to building stronger links between Concordia graduates in the area and elsewhere through activities designed to build contacts, enhance friendships and promote Concordia’s traditions and values.
  • Lisa Morgan, BA 89, has lived in Virginia since 2007 and is looking forward to increasing Concordia's visibility and building a strong D.C. alumni network.
  • Zoran Kahric, BEng 97, has lived in Maryland since 2001. He’d like to welcome newly arrived Concordia alumni, ease their transition to the area, and create strong networks for long-time residents.
  • Dinesh Mehta, BEng 80, moved to Virginia in 1999.  He looks forward to helping develop a community of Concordia grads, linked by a strong alumni network, and promoting the university’s image in the Washington, D.C. area.
